Suggested itinerary for a perfect weekend
day on the upper westside!
Sleep in, take a relaxing
shower, shave (or maybe not), get dressed and hop on the subway
to 86th street and Broadway. The train stops one block from NY
Hair Co, as do the Broadway, Columbus Avenue and Amsterdam
Avenue bus lines .
And don’t forget to
grab a New York Times before heading to one of the great restaurants
within a block of our salon. Barney Greengrass serves a quintessential
New York breakfast of bagels and lox or try Popovers if you prefer
their signature espresso eggs, popovers with strawberry butter
and the company of a snugly stuffed bear.
As you peruse your Times,
call NY Hair Co on your cell phone to confirm your afternoon
appointment. If you’re early, pop into one of the unique
stores all within a block of NY Hair Co on Amsterdam Avenue
such as Popover’s Plums, Plain Jane and the Summa Art Gallery.
But don’t get too distracted by the shops! You’ll be
glad you arrived early for your appointment at NY Hair Co,
where you can finish the Times, hear the latest jokes, share some
laughs, have more coffee, and watch all the neighborhood dogs
stop in for their daily biscuits. Sit back and relax while we
give you a great haircut or touch up your color.
Then head out...have lunch
at EJ’s Luncheonette or one of the other local eateries.
Visit a new exhibit at the Museum of Natural History, buy a novel
at Barnes & Noble or find neat stuff you need or maybe don’t
need at the 77th Street flea market. Next make your way through
Zabar’s and pick up some imported olives, gourmet coffee,
chocolate rugelach or whatever you fancy. Head home. Now that’s
a perfect weekend day!
